Ouroboros, how dare you come before us
revealing our darkest moments.
We love your kiss, so deeply woven in our eyes
but the gnashing of your teeth we just despise.
You feed on your own meat.
How do you live with this need?
Why do you not decease?
Is there glory in your duty.
The reptilian side of our own minds
the skin that cannot be shed
continues to confine our hearts to this day.
The primal instincts we battle,
to deny them would be telling lies
they cannot be forgotten, sad to say.
Life’s allure comes from her temporal nature.
The fire to create refines divinity.
You will be consumed, this fact we cannot change.
It is the ending that inspires the flame.
You’ve lost all your charms
they wore off long ago,
but the lens that you are
is worth much more than gold.
You’re the gruesome tale
of the grim reaper
and still the wings that bring
us to our mothers.
All of life, can’t help but sing your song.
We embody your cycle, it’s relied upon.
The scales would read that serpents aren’t to be trusted,
but I think your truth been interrupted.
Despite, he offer us his insights.
“Spend your time like it’s your last ray of sunshine.
Banishing your fears just makes you blind
to the strangers that just might save you.”
All of creation sings of your praise they say
“the death of yin preludes the birth of yang.”
Still some struggle to accept their fate, and take
it out on those that don’t relate.
I, fly on the wings of knowing.
Acting as though my endings already showing.
Endless opportunities along the way,
the ones I choose shape the way I behave.
I know a way
to conquer the snake.
An ally you must make.
In the now you’ll stay.
I, fly on the wings of knowing.
Acting as though my endings already showing.
Endless teachers along the way,
the ones I choose shape the way I behave.
Ouroboros, I humbly come before you
thanking you for this day.
I realize without my body’s demise
I’d likely waste eternity away.
You’ve liberated me, living intentionally,
with that alone, my life you have changed.
I come to show you gratitude for what you do
inspires me to make the most of each breath I take.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful
but why is it that I'm here.
You see sometimes I feel it's severely painful bearing fruit for other's sneers.
This world we live in requires us to craft the same stones that destroy our clans.
Yet the jewels that grow from within our souls don't seem to be worth a damn.
I feel as though I am wasting away.
Starving for the truth of another age.
So I resemble a boy who has lost his way
Wandering this plane just to stay awake.
The cast I'm from does not value the same points of view.
My pack is not free to travel to taste the worlds of different fruits.
A prisoner of sorts, slave to resources, with a hunger for love that can't be quenched.
What feels like chains and malnourishment leads to songs about serpents.
Gazing the moon in love feels so long ago
While watching your peers get beaten by struggles.
While under fire we rise out of ashes to mend you
We your medics can't refuse.
This was not my wish
I was conceived to bring bliss
This was not my hope, no it wasn't my hope
Where the scope of my life is to constantly cope.
Is it a possibility that I was given the wrong body.
Cause I feel like a bird that sings till it's butchered.
Tell me this is not what I deserve.
To sell my body to men whose riches were given to them at birth.
Let the seas that we've wept heal the wounds of misjudgment
Songs we cry soothe pain.
Our creations dream of lifting up souls
Each needs all in order to be saved.
Give me hope.
Feed my heart.
Help me keep this light on.
Teach me to breathe.
Show me the path to a full heart.
Give me hope.
